GROW, funded by Canada Funds for Local Initiatives (CFLI), is implementing a project aiming to curb child early and forced marriage. This initiative addresses CFLI priority – preventing child early forced marriage (CEFM). The intervention takes place in Sanqebethu J03 community council from October 2015 to February 2016. It will address the problems of child early and forced marriage, with specific emphasis on violence against girls. Since this affects girls, their low level of awareness on their rights and existing legal frameworks that protect them enhances their vulnerability. The project will strengthen many interventions previously undertaken by GROW in Sanqebethu – Mokhotlong that were funded by the European Union. The capacity building of paralegals and young men’s programme initiated under those interventions will be scaled up and intensified.
