SHIFT (Strengthening Homebased Initiatives for OVC Care givers and Support) Project

DSC07297This program works towards realisation of overarching PEPFAR responses which are to contribute to the achievement of an AIDS-free generation by responding to the social and emotional consequences on children, their families and communities that support them. GROW aims to empower and build capacity of existing community structures and systems for the support of OVC and their caregivers. Orphaned and Vulnerable Children and their caregivers continue to be provided with services through community based mentors and volunteers as per their assessed needs and the care plans and linkages or referrals are made where necessary. Through the use of community mentors, project staff and volunteers with the guidance of local leaders, GROW will continue facilitating the capacity building of 40 community volunteers to provide a continuum of care and support services to 5350 OVC and their caregivers with their immediate families in the coming years.
